EDT Lessons

EDT is course of 12 hour sessions. These sessions are designed to cover certain critical driving skills and improve your practical driving skills.

Each lesson is one hour long, and we recommend that you leave at least two weeks between lessons. This is to ensure that you have sufficient time to practice what you have learned, study and book any additional lessons you might need with us. Remember, you can't take your driving test for at least six months after you receive your learner permit, so there are no benefits to doing the lessons quickly. Before you attend your first EDT lesson, make sure you have everything you need and have done any preparation required.

As you complete each session your Approved Driving Instructor  (ADI) will recorded your progress in a specially issued logbook.

After you finish your EDT course, it is more than likely that you will still need additional lessons. These can be arranged as needed.

It is important to remember that EDT lessons are a foundation in the skills you need to drive safely and pass the test. Many students make the mistake of completing the EDT syllabus and immediately undertaking the test and failing it. This, in turn, contributes to the high failure rate of first-time applicants. RSA statistics have shown that people who pass first time have at least 40-50 hours driving experience on average from a combination of lessons & practice.
