Driving Lesson

Pre Tests & Car Hire

A Pretest driving lesson is designed to replicate the conditions that you will experience during an actual driving test.

They are aimed at learners who have completed the 12 EDT lessons and also those who have taken the advised extra lessons and will run through all requirements and driving test manoeuvres that you will be tested on during your driving test.

Pre Tests are highly advised and they will make the day of the test less stressful and will increase your chances of passing the test.

What happens on a Pretest?

We show you what the tester is looking for on the day of the test. We break it down into sections, e.g. junctions, roundabouts, changing lanes, going through each section and explaining what is required and demonstrating where necessary, usually maneuvers. We will go through all engine checks and secondary control checks along with coaching for the question and sign section of the test. We also go through the marking system, how you are marked and the meaning of each of the grades and how these will affect the outcome of your test.

CAR HIRE

In the event that you do not have own a car or it is not up to test standard we can hire you a car for the duration of the test.

But what are the advantages of hiring a car?

1) Peace of mind knowing that the car is in test condition, e.g. tires, all tax and insurance discs in date, bodywork in proper condition.

2) The tester has the benefit of extra rear-view mirrors (as used by instructor).

3) The car is at the standard of hygiene required and is fitted with wind deflectors to enable open windows for airflow as required under current guidelines.

4) Roof signage and logos on the car that alert other road users to you so that they will take extra care when they see you on the road.

This is always best as part of our Advance Pretest Package which are 3 x 2hr pretest lessons plus
30min warm up on day of test and the hire of the car itself. We have had great success with this
package, and it is in great demand.
